Our Company was founded in 1963 in a small store front on old Alvarado Street in downtown Monterey. When urban renewal swept through Monterey in 1965 the office moved to the Pacific Street location. With continued growth and a business driven by giving good service, we moved in 1991 to our present location on Abrego Street. We transformed the old First National Bank building into one of the nicest places to work or to come in and make your reservations. We have 13 employees in the office ready to help you with your every travel need.

NORM EDWARDS, PRESIDENT
Norm became a partner in Monterey Travel in 1983 following a twelve year career with United Airlines. While with United he worked as a Budget Analyst in Corporate Planning, Industrial Engineer, Operating Manager in Inflight Services and City Manager. Since 1983, the agency has experienced strong growth. Today Carmel Monterey Travel does business out of two offices and produces volumes within the top ten percent of agencies across the nation. Norm believes that a high level of services delivered by truly knowledgeable, caring travel professionals equipped with state-of-the-art technology and strong travel supplier relationships are the keys to the agency's long-standing good reputation. Carmel Monterey Travel offers our clients the ability to research travel options via our internet site while delivering person to person service through our "bricks and mortar" offices. Monterey Travel and Carmel Travel have enjoyed outstanding reputations dating back to 1963. Norm feels strongly that the company must continue to build on its strengths of the past while taking advantage of the exciting changes in the future.

MARC WOODBURY, CTC VICE PRESIDENT
Marc graduated with a major in geography from Illinois State University and has worked at Monterey Travel since 1976. Marc is the company's computer expert, keeping Monterey Travel on the cusp of the technological revolution that has swept the industry in recent years. His unquenchable thirst for knowledge ensures that all of our clients get the most bang for their travel bucks. Marc is a seasoned world traveler whose journeys have taken him to Europe, South America, Central America, Asia, and his favorite destination, Australia. He has been on numerous cruises and finds them the most relaxing way to travel. Marc's wealth of experience helps clients plan everything from simple air reservations to sophisticated around-the-world trips. Another of his specialties is coordinating inbound conferences to the Monterey area.

TOM GREELEY
Tom was an award-winning reporter and editor at several daily newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, before changing careers and entering the travel industry nine years ago. His wanderlust has taken him to all 50 United States and on numerous lengthy journeys in Europe. He also has traveled extensively in Hawaii and Mexico. A taste for the exotic has take him to Israel, Morocco and Yugoslavia. Tom's after-hours passions are sports, theater, and literature.

PATRICIA VAN LAARHOVEN
Patricia has worked in virtually every facet of the travel industry during her 30-year career. She was a flight attendant for Air France and station manager for Pacific Coast Airlines at Monterey Peninsula Airport before settling in at Monterey Travel 12 years ago. Originally from Belgium, she speaks several languages and is especially proficient in planning detailed, customized European itineraries. Patricia was recently designated a Hawaii specialist by Leisure Travel Group and also is a cruise expert.

KIMBERLY VERMILYER
Kimberly brings a wealth of experience to Monterey Travel's corporate department. She began her travel career with United Airlines, starting in domestic reservations and working her way up the ladder to the world's largest carrier's around-the-world desk. She later specialized in serving United's premier frequent flyers and worked as a travel agency liaison. Las Vegas is her favorite leisure destination.

DJ GERRITSEN
DJ brings more than 20 years experience to Monterey Travel. Her work as a customer service specialist for United Airlines gave her invaluable knowledge of the inner-workings of airlines. DJ particularly enjoys booking honeymoons and leisure travel, but she is an outstanding corporate agent as well. Her travels have taken her to the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Europe, the Orient, Africa, and the South Pacific. She has been on 17 cruises.

DENNIS GARRISON, CTC CHAIRMAN & CEO
Dennis joined the agency in 1974 after spending 5 years with Pan American Airways in reservations and sales. He has been witness to many changes in the industry over the years. What has not changed is the company's ability to adjust and to thrive through the years. He credits sound management to a degree, but most of all the credit goes to our wonderful employees, many of whom have been with the company for more than 20 years. Dennis' duties include day to day management of the Carmel Branch and bookkeeping and accounting functions. He has traveled extensively and has been booking travel for over 30 years.

PAULA ARNOLD
Paula has 10 plus years of experience. She can help you get anywhere. Independent arrangements in France are her specialty.

BETTY COLE, CTC
Over 20 years experience. Betty is our group expert and one of our top cruise specialists.

MARY HILL
Thirty plus years experience in the travel industry. Mary is also a foreign independent travel expert and she has a vast knowledge of cruise ships.

SIMONE JACKSON , CTC
Simone has over 30 years experience in the travel business. She started in her native France and has traveled all over the world. She became a CTC, Certified Travel Counselor in 1981 and was honored by being published in the ICTA marketing manual. She is very interested in European art and history and specializes in Customized Foreign Travel.
She has cruised on many cruise lines and continents and keeps abreast with the latest cruise news and ships to better serve her clients. She is an expert in planning family reunions and groups as well as escorting on land or sea. Last but not least, Simone loves to transmit her enthusiasm of seeing new places to her clients and add that personal touch.

INGRID SELIN
Ingrid will reluctantly admit to 46 years in the travel industry, 26 with Carmel Travel. She started her career in Gothenburg, Sweden, and after a short year in Manhattan, moved to Los Angeles and Travcoa Travel Corporation of America, before advancing to Carmel Travel. Ingrid loves to travel and has so far visited 63 countries and is working towards 64. She loves her job and feels very comfortable assisting her clients with their travel needs, Especially to Europe. BEVERLY WILLIAMS
Over 30 years in the business. Beverly has experience in all phases of travel planning. She leaves "no rock unturned" in her dedication to the details of your trip.
